Taking Faith Home

These weekly devotional can be used as a famliy or for personal study. They are in a bulletin format that we have made a decision to offer them solely through our website to be more economically responsible. They are based on the Four Keys and offer ways to read the Bible daily and tie our faith into our daily lives. The following are the current pdf documents for each week.

Family Table Devotions

These are to be used as placemats for your meal. After eating, take some time to read the Bible together and participate in some of the activities on each placemat! They are geared for families with children.

Other Resources

Daily Discipleship
Daily Discipleship is a free, online, downloadable, lectionary Bible study based on the gospel lesson used at Sunday worship. Each weekly session is designed for "Daily Discipleship Groups" of two to seven people who gather to prepare for upcoming Sunday worship (or to reflect on the previous week's reading) by discussing the assigned gospel lesson's implications for daily living. It can be easily adapted for personal devotions. Follow the link: http://www.elca.org/Growing-In-Faith/Discipleship/Christian-Education/Daily-Discipleship.aspx

Roots & Wings
The Virginia Synod has created some great resources to use in your homes as well! These are geared for families with children, although, I suspect could bring ideas and enrichment to any home. There are three resources here. http://vasynodroots.org/inserts.htm

1. "Nurturing Faith ... Every Day in Every Way" Offers weekly readings based on the lectionary. With each reading are a few questions, conversation starters, and a prayer. There is a weekly memory verse as well as a family time activity.

2. "Sharing the Faith" is a monthly resource that offers some ideas to incorporate the Four Keys (Caring Conversation, Devotions, Service, and Rituals and Traditions) into your family life during the month.

3. "Faith Activities" is a weekly email that can be sent to you that gives just that - faith activities you can do as a family throughout the week.
