Repairs are complete!! 08/04/2010
![]() Before ![]() After -- Praise God that our repairs are finally done!! A new roof and a complete paint job!! ![]() Here is a focused shot on the door. The cross is painted a Mettalic Gold. The red Why a red door?? The red door tradition originated during the Middle Ages in England when it was a sign of sanctuary. In those days, if one who was being pursued by the local populace, shire reeve (sheriff) or gentry could reach the church door he/she would be safe. Nobody would dare to do violence on hallowed ground and, in any case, the Church was not subject to civil law. The red door was fair warning to pursuers that they could proceed no further. One who claimed sanctuary in this way would then be able to present his/her case before the priest and ask that justice be served. The red signified the blood of Jesus Christ who came to save all who took refuge in him. People who passed through the red doors were safe. Today the doors continue to provide safety and refuge to all who enter - if you are seeking a place to worship in the Brentwood Area we hope that you will join us. 5 Comments Repairs Update 07/21/2010
Repairs Update The Roof is Complete pending inspection. The color of the roof is a light gray. The painters are already doing the prep on the buildings PLEASE tell us what you think about the paint samples. We need your input on the samples that Ron our painter has suggested ![]() This is the blue and white we are planning to paint the church. The white is a "brighter" white than the original coat. The Door -- Our current suggestion is to paint the door white and have the "cross" on the door painted a silver/gray. This is the best color combination that our stylist and painter recommend since it will be getting a lot of sunlight. Some people have recommended Red paint or staining the door. Our stylist and painter are against this because the sunlight will quickly deteriorate the stain or fade the red into a pastel pink. ![]() Here is the front of the church. The new white around the entrance door is not easy to distinguish from the old white in this photo. ![]() Here is a closeup of the windows. You can notice the difference in whiteness in this picture.
